Dear Friends of Rainbow World Fund,
Thank you for your generosity! Your compassion has saved the lives of hundreds and is helping many more improve their lives.
RWF highlights since we began fundraising in 2004:
• $1,400,000.00 total aid delivered.
• $617,487.00 in food, shelter and medicine for disaster relief.
• $628,667.00 in medical and educational aid to Central America.
• $34,926.00 for water projects in rural Honduras serving 625 people.
• $20,000.00 for landmine eradication in Cambodia.
• Funding for eight full-time health educators in rural South Africa.
• Delivery of hundreds of stuffed animals to children in need.
• Global awareness: Forty-three people led on humanitarian aid journeys.
• Annual advocacy on Capitol Hill for development and aid issues.
• 2007 San Francisco Pride Organizational Grand Marshals; 2005 Out 100 List.
RWF began 2007 by continuing its support of landmine eradication in Cambodia, HIV/AIDS prevention in South Africa, safe drinking water access projects in Honduras, maternal and child healthcare in Haiti. Throughout 2007, RWF provided emergency aid to survivors of floods in Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Mexico, and to survivors of the devastating Aug., 15 earthquake in Peru.
In the summer, RWF returned from a fourth journey to Guatemala. Fifteen volunteers delivered 1,800 pounds of medical and school supplies and cash grants to a medical clinic, an orphanage, a water project, two schools, and a community center that helps people with HIV/AIDS. RWF also distributed hundreds of stuffed animals to children along the way. We return to Guatemala July 18-27, 2008—please join us.
RWF is ending the year by once again joining with the Mayor of San Francisco to create The Tree of Hope at City Hall. This unique project encourages participants to send wishes for the future of the world which, once inscribed, are turned into origami cranes and used decorate a holiday tree. The campaign focuses on drawing attention to the plight of children in need. Contributors include Senator Hillary Clinton, Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi and hundreds of children.

The Rainbow Bus is heading to Mexico in the summer of 2008. We are looking for individuals and organizations to partner with us to fill the bus with medicine, medical supplies, school supplies and toys to be delivered to an orphanage, a medical clinic and an HIV/AIDS project in Tijuana. We will be visiting San Francisco, San José, Los Angeles, Long Beach and San Diego among other cities. Email volunteer@rainbowfund.org or call (415) 431-1485 to help.
RWF’s Efficiency:
In recent years, we have multiplied every dollar for RWF program services by 27, resulting in more monetary aid, medicine, medical supplies and educational supplies for distribution to those in need. Overhead costs have averaged 3.6% since the organization’s inception in 2000.

Let’s continue to build upon what we have accomplished! We can do even more in 2008. Your contributions make a huge difference in the lives of so many and help demonstrate the LGBT and friends community’s commitment to improving the lives of people around the globe.
Warmest regards and wishes for peace,
